Fitness Orientation
At the Y, one of our goals is to make sure you are staying safe while working out. The YMCA offers free adult and teen floor orientations for our members. Both orientations are hosted by YMCA wellness floor staff and include information on adjusting equipment to fit you, proper use of equipment, and wellness floor etiquette. Most importantly, these orientations will help you build your confidence and become the first step for you to reach your fitness goals!
ADULT ORIENTATION
At the Y, we're here to help you reach your wellness goals. With that in mind, we've created a new member Wellness Orientation to get you started on the path to success. Our trained Fitness Center Staff will take you on a guided tour of the cardio and weight rooms, show you how to operate equipment, and explain what you need to know to help you feel comfortable utilizing the Fitness Center.
Sign up for an orientation at the front desk or email our Health and Wellness Director, Ruby Hoffmann.
TEEN ORIENTATION
Teenaged members of the YMCA can use the cardio equipment, the gym, and machine weights, and attend certain group fitness classes once they complete a Teen Orientation. Once complete, the member will receive a wristband and will be able to visit the YMCA without a parent/guardian.
Our Youth Fitness Orientation teaches youth and teens how to work out safely and effectively within the Y Fitness Center. Teen Fitness Orientations introduce basic muscle anatomy, exercise concepts and guidelines, gym etiquette, and safety practices.
For more information on how to sign up for a Youth Orientation, call or stop by the welcome center, or you can email our Health and Wellness Director, Ruby Hoffmann.
